Chapter 5

From Chapter 5 Shell of a Man

“Vlad stay away from this, this is my fight.” He shouted as he darted towards the attacker with such speed. It had surprised the stranger that someone else could move this fast, but he reacted quickly and was not caught off guard. Even Leron’s speed was not enough to inflict a blow upon the stranger. Every blow Leron made the stranger blocked and countered but Leron was just as good. They fought moving around in the dark and held position when finally they found themselves standing in the blue light of the Cryo-Chamber.

Whirling and kicking and punching at a speed that sent vibrations throughout the whole of the laboratory. Vlad could see them now and could keep up with the fight while they were in the light. The boy or man or whatever it was had amazing skills and used fighting techniques that was worthy of the Chinese masters of old. The dwarf could not help but to admire the both of them as he had never seen such a display of fighting skills at this speed ever. It was like there was a rhythm to their movement and though each blow could be deadly they seem to dance around each other’s attacks in such an acrobatic way with such ease, they seemed evenly matched. But then everything seemed in Vlad’s mind like it was slow motion as Leron moved near him and flicked his head back to avoid a blow, a small glimmer flickered from Leron through the light of the Cryo-Chamber and hit Vlad on his hand. He felt it and it was wet and then he tasted it and it was salty. He was amazed it was sweat the first he had ever known the Fairien to sweat. He knew then that Leron was tiring and he snapped out of his daze that had held him in awe at the skill of their fighting. He rushed as quickly as he could to pick up Leron’s staff. But as he did Leron threw a right handed punch towards the stranger the stranger then block the punch with his own right hand pushing Leron’s punching hand down with his left. The stranger than countered with his right hand using the back of his fist. Leron was fast and blocked the punch with his only free hand whilst raising his foot to kick, but the stranger raised his right foot and placed it firmly on Leron’s knee preventing him from making the kick. Before Leron could think of his next move the stranger used a move that surprised him.

The mysterious man then leaned in towards Leron placing his right foot back firmly forwards on the ground swinging powerfully the elbow of his right hand into Leron’s chest sending him flying backwards into the dark smashing computers and experiment bottles along the way causing mini explosions as he hit powered electrical equipment breaking them with the power and the speed of his fall. He finally made contact with the wall near the metal door at the far end of the Lab hitting a button with his back that was on the wall.
