Chapter 15

From Chapter 15 The Battle of Eifel

He continued firing his rifle the Orcus and their master must know by now that they were surrounded. The snipers were finding their targets and were picking them off one by one from a distance, while the ground troops fired repeatedly making sure they avoided the captured dwarves while they keep as safe as they could behind the cover of the rubble of buildings that were all around. The Orcus fought back firing and hitting a few of Suinuj’s men, then the dark faceless being that travelled with them invoked a power causing a small energy field to form somewhat around them giving the Orcus a little cover from their attack. The snipers above still found and hit their targets, but the group of Orcus and their master began to move steadily towards the now landed Craft.

It was as they moved that Vlad noticed two of the snipers leaping from the rooftops where they were placed, hitting the ground with a thud. At first he had thought they were suicide nuts, but he watched the faceless being motion with its right hand, while he concentrated his left to holding the force field it had created – more to protect its self than the Orcus. Another sniper was lifted off the ground and thrown off the roof, he had no idea these creatures could do such a thing from such a great distance, down below the Orcus were nearing the ship, and the voice of his father played in his mind reminding him of what he should do if he could not save them.

Suinuj realising the Orcus had almost reached the craft ordered his men to move out to cut them off, leading the way he rushed out with his men in toe from their cover and blocked the road. Firing their laser bolt weapons the Orcus were now killing his men with more ease, the once hundred Orcus had now diminished to around thirty, but in clear open combat they were masters at their trade and their trade was killing, without breaking a stride they marched forward taking multiple bullets they continued the faceless beings energy field providing enough cover making it hard for his men to find headshots, they came at them fearless breaking the human line of defence, they no longer needed weapons this close they preferred to snap Suinuj’s men’s necks like they were snapping twigs, but Suinuj was strong and fast, firing his weapon with one hand he removed his blade from his waist with the other whilst leaping into the air he pierced two Orcus through the centre of their heads before he landed, now he was in his element, close combat was how he liked it, up and personal against these things, these destroyers of lands he would make them pay as best he could.
