Chapter 14

From Chapter 14 The importance of the Heart

“You are lucky this time little man.” The bald headed man said before he ran off into the crowd and disappeared like the rest of them. a short moment later the streets were bare leaving the dwarf and his three friends standing in the streets surrounded by over twenty men in green uniforms. Looking up they noticed there were uniformed men also on the roof tops all fully armed pointing their weapons at them.

“Who are you?” Vlad shouted out.

Not one of them moved or made a sound, there was silence for a while until they heard the sound of an engine coming from behind them turning to look they were all surprised at the green metal vehicle with a large machine gun at the top. It was an ACV an armoured combat vehicle Knarf and his men had seen these vehicles on old movies back at the shallows but they believed that all war vehicles had been destroyed to see one in real life was surreal.

“Its ok buoys dem mun garn.” A tall slender dark skin man dressed in the same green combat uniform like the rest stepped out from around the back of the ACV; these were soldiers Vlad had fought beside enough uniform men during the war to recognize a real soldier when he saw one.

“Who are you?”

“Me my dwarf friend, we is da resistance, the last mun dat fight oppression in dese dark land, me name is Aubrey but my men just call me Pops.”

“Why Pops?” Zepol seemed curious.

“Dem call me dis because when me see da enemy me just pop off dem head.” He laughed as he showed them the sniper rifle he was carrying over his shoulder.
“Come now your mun der need sum looking too, my buoys will tek care of dem horses, come jump in.”

He walked to the back of the AVC, they did not know if these men could be trusted but they knew for now they were better off with them so with no hesitation they climbed into the back of the almost tank looking armored vehicle, and after shouting to his men to cover their track Pops climbed in and the driver drove off to who knows where.
